Ben Ricketts Environmental Preserve
-- Bushland Cabin Accommodation --
Nestled under the escarpment on the rainforest covered slopes of Jamberoo Mountain, Ben Ricketts is a tranquil escape less than two hours from Sydney.
We offer three self-catering cabins at Ben Ricketts, each with a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom and a cosy slow combustion wood heater.
Wake to birdsong in your cosy cabin and spend your days enjoying our rainforest, creeks, glades and open paddocks. It is also a great base from which to explore the Southern Highlands and South Coast.
Ben Ricketts is home to echidnas, wombats, swamp wallabies, greater gliders and sugar gliders. Listen to the lyrebirds, bowerbirds, catbirds, whipbirds, kookaburras that pass through the property. Your verandah is a great place to watch the birds and listen to the frogs as the sun goes down behind the mountain.
Children are welcome, with plenty of open space for them to play, and lots of nature to discover on our marked walking trails and in the Budderoo National Park and Barren Grounds Reserve. The beach is close by, and so are great attractions like the Jamberoo Recreation Park and Illawarra Fly.
Ben Ricketts Environmental Preserve acknowledges the Wodi Wodi clan of the Dharawal people as the traditional owners of the lands that we care for. We offer our respects to Wodi Wodi elders and celebrate our connection to them through the Dharawal palm (Cabbage Tree), and the Wodi Wodi totems lyrebird and satin bowerbird, which thrive on this land.
